Obituary for Albert S. George

Albert S. “Sunny” George, age 75, of River Forest; beloved husband of Noni; loving brother of Thomas (Beverly) George and brother-in-law of Neill and Gene Stamp; dear uncle of Marjorie Patricia George and Christopher (Julie) and Amanda (Mahesh Yadav) Stamp; great-uncle of Aiden and Maddie; devoted son of the late Albert S. and Marjorie George.
Albert attended grade school and junior high school in River Forest, continuing on to Oak Park and River Forest High School graduating in 1960. In September he left for Durham, NC and Duke University. Four years later in 1964 he graduated from Duke and matriculated at Kent College of law in Chicago. Four years later he finished law school and passed the bar. After two years of working in a law firm, de decided to open his own office in River Forest and began a general practice of law. He specialized in real estate law and probate law, but always kept his general practice and loved the challenge of an unusual case. Albert’s wit was legendary within his family and among friends. His keen observations and apt expressions caused both amusement and pleasure to those to whom his remarks were directed. This very trait made him an excellent member of many organizations, including the OPRF Community Foundation, the LaGrange Lions Club, the River Forest Service Club, the long-time village prosecutor for River Forest, a pro bono arbitrator with the Chicago Bar Association, and board member for the River Forest Tennis Club. He enjoyed sports of all kinds---baseball, football, tennis, and golf---and loved travel, be it a simple trip to Wisconsin, dog in tow, or a trip to Peru with friends. He loved his friends and family and cherished their friendship. Life was an adventure to be lived.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, December 9, 1 p.m. until time of service 5 p.m. at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to Team PHenomenal Hope (teamphenomenalhope.org) are appreciated.
