Obituary for Dianne K. Bartlett O'Rourke

Dianne K. Bartlett O'Rourke, age 78 of Hammond, IN passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014. She is survived by her two sons: Robert (Actress) Bartlett of Oak Park, IL and Brian (Shelly) Bartlett of Highlands Ranch, CO; five grandchildren: Phillip, Shannon (Paul Dore), Adam (Danielle), Brooke, and Bridget; four great-grandchildren: Brennan, Elijah, Brittani, and Briana; her brother and sister Willis (Lorry) Keim of Merrillville, IN and Donnalyn (Robert) Twyman of Farmingdale, NJ; and many nieces and nephews. Dianne retired from the Hammond Teachers' Federation in 2013. During her forty years with the HTF, Dianne was an integral and much beloved part of both the union and the School City of Hammond. She was passionate about dance, poetry, and the arts, and she was a longtime Jazzercise enthusiast. She attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, where she was a member of the Rho Alpha chapter of Chi Omega. A private interment will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014. All are invited to share their memories about Dianne at a celebration of her life on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Lost Marsh Country Club, 1001 129th Street, Hammond, IN. The celebration will take place from 2:00-5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Hammond Education Foundation, 41 Williams St., Hammond, IN 46320. Online donations can be made at Donations should be made in memory of Dianne K. Bartlett O'Rourke and will be directed to the dance program at the Hammond Academy of Performing Arts. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
