Obituary for Elsie June Traver Wade

Elsie June Traver Wade, age 91, of River Forest; wife of the late Daniel M. Wade; mother of Daniel G. (Maryanne) Wade, Elizabeth W. (Dr. Steven) Senger and Catherine W. Grounds; eldest daughter of the late Frederick C. and the late Mae J. Traver; grandmother of Benjamin Wade, Madeline and Caleb Senger, and Fatima, Aleyah and Noor Kahbi; sister of Fred C. Jr. (Barbara) and the late Craig Traver; dear and faithful friend to many.

She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of River Forest. She graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School, class of 1943 and was an alumna of DePauw University, Greencastle, IN.

On September 10, 1949 she was united in marriage with Daniel M. Wade. With artistic skill she created a gracious and beautiful home and lived nearly all her life in River Forest.

She was an active volunteer in many organizations, including church circle, Women’s Society, Chicago Symphony Orchestra and notably even in her later years at West Suburban Hospital.

All she did reflected her graciousness, her Christian values and her abiding faith.

MOST IMPORTANT TO HER were family and friends.

Visitation Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park. Funeral Service Wednesday 11 a.m. at The First Presbyterian Church of River Forest, 7551 Quick Ave., River Forest. Interment Mt. Emblem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the First Presbyterian Church of River Forest are appreciated.
