Obituary for John "Jack" V. Walsh

John "Jack" V. Walsh, age 85 of Willow Springs and formerly of Oak Park; beloved husband of 61 years to Audrey nee Reeb; loving father of Tim (Cathy), Peggy, Jackie (Chris) Lundt, John (Laura), and Patrick (Jane) Walsh; cherished grandfather of Sarah, Patrick, Casey, Catherine, Caitlin, Ryan, Jack, Molly, Matthew, Sean Walsh, Fiona and Maeve Lundt; adoring great-grandfather of Lila and Brennan Walsh; devoted son of the late Elizabeth nee Eyre and Patrick Walsh; dear brother of the late Muriel Briscoe; best friend of Glenn Brooker; fond brother-in-law and uncle of many. A lifelong resident of Oak Park, Jack was a proud alumnus of Ascension School, Fenwick High School, and Loyola University. Jack was the owner of Federal Typewriter from 1965 until his retirement in 2013. He loved making his mother's famous macaroni and cheese for family and friends. He will be missed for his warm smile and the kind words he had for all who knew him. Visitation Friday, December 13th from 3 to 8 p.m. at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park. Prayers Saturday, December 14th at 10:15 a.m. to Ascension Church for Mass 11 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jack's memory to Ascension School in Oak Park.
