Obituary for Joseph A. Massura

Joseph A. Massura, age 95, of Oak Park; veteran and Purple Heart recipient U.S. Army 36th Division WWII; beloved husband of the late Mary Ellen nee Stafford; loving father of James (Diane), Paul (Barbara) and the late William; cherished grandfather of Katherine (Nicholas) Schafer, Elizabeth, Jeffrey (Kristine), David (Erin), Lauren (Benjamin) Ema, Therese, Brian, Kevin, Benjamin and Nicholas; adoring great-grandfather of Teresa, Gabriella, Mary and Gianna; dear brother of George (the late Frances) Massura; fond uncle of many. Joe is preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. Visitation Tuesday 3 to 8 p.m. at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St. Oak Park. Funeral Mass Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at Ascension Church, 801 S. East Ave., Oak Park. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Catholic Charities of Chicago (catholiccharities.net) are appreciated.
