Obituary for Joshua D. Ungaretti-Levy

Joshua D. Ungaretti-Levy, 14, passed away on February 8, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Josh was cherished and precious to all who knew him. From the day he was born, Josh was a gentle boy who persevered in his full life. In addition to his own unique strength, he was sustained by the unconditional love of his mothers, Christine and Joy, his sisters Sarah and Ella, and his large and extended family who will always adore him. Josh touched and changed the lives of nearly everyone he encountered. He taught us all many lessons in courage, perseverance, determination, tolerance and compassion. Josh was in eighth grade at The Children's School in Berwyn. In addition to his family and friends, Josh's other passions were music and playing soccer in the AYSO (VIP) soccer league in Oak Park. Other survivors include his grandparents; George and Donna Parker of Gold Canyon, Arizona and Richard (Noren) Ungaretti of Chicago, IL and Audrey Ungaretti of Oak Park, IL. A visitation was held on Friday February 12, 2016 at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home. The funeral mass was held on Saturday February 13 at St. Catherine of Siena - St. Lucy Church in Oak Park. Interment followed at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Joshua may be made to The Children's School, Berwyn, IL ( or Easter Seals of DuPage and Fox Valley ( are appreciated.
