Larry Taylor, age 71, of Oak Park, passed away on June 14. Larry was born and raised on the west side of Chicago. He was a veteran of the US Army, and retired from the state of Illinois after 35 years of employment. Larry was a gifted painter and avid music listener; he enjoyed fashion, fine arts, dance, and walks with his dog Bailey. Larry was known for his quick wit and silly sense of humor and could even make a stranger crack a smile.
Larry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Debra, and his children Laren and Breanne, his sisters, Charlene Harris, Larryne (Vance Ervin) Ghoston, Sharon (David) Butler, Rochelle Taylor, Lethette (Henretta) Taylor, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Ruth Taylor, his brother Charles (Laralene) Harris, Phyllistine “Lois” Moore and Pastor Ron (Johnnie) Taylor. He will be missed by many.
Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 7 PM at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park. PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE STAGE 3 RESTORE ILLINOIS RULES, WE WILL BE LIMITED TO 10 GUESTS IN THE BUILDING AT A TIME. Private interment at Concordia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org/illinois) are appreciated.
