Madeline Emily Roberts, 31, died on June 14, 2020, after a long struggle with mental illness. Born on November 1, 1988, she was a lifelong resident of Oak Park, attending Holmes Elementary School, Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School and graduating from Oak Park River Forest High School in 2007. She attended Loyola University New Orleans and received an associate's degree from Triton College. Madeline enjoyed small local shops and had worked at both CarefulPeach Boutique and Pumpkin Moon. A talented artist, she is remembered for her creativity in illustrating her MadCat Studio greeting cards for all occasions.
Madeline is survived by her parents, John and Katie Roberts; her sister, Jamie Roberts (Thomas Baker); her aunt, Deborah Pieritz (Mary Eisenlohr); her cousin, Mary Walsh; her fiance, John Byrne; her kitten, Charlie; and her many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marion and Al Pieritz, and her favorite cats, Etch and Eddie.
