Obituary for Pearl P. Schultz

Pearl P. Shultz nee Ciampelli, age 99, of Oak Park; beloved wife of the late Louis; loving aunt of Jay (Joyce) Champelli; fond great-aunt of Lisa (Chris Jackson), Joseph (Chris Scally), Jon (Angelique Callicoat) and Terri (Michael Liepitz) Champelli; great-great aunt of Peter, Audrey, Lucy, Kira, Ethan, Ellie, Alex and Zachary; devoted daughter of the late Pio and Anna Ciampelli; dear sister of the late Emily (the late George) Mlady, Ida (the late Robert) Borden and Joseph (the late Ethel) Champelli. This was “famiglia”! Pearl was a world traveler (China, Australia, Egypt, Italy, France, England, Cuba, etal.) She was a self-taught scholar of Napoleon and Josephine (her cat’s name). She was a devotee of Ernest Hemingway, having visited his home in Cuba and his haunts in Paris. Also a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright. She loved traveling to Las Vegas to play the nickel slots. Active in grass roots political action, she was named the Kane County Republican Women of the Year. She was a 30+ year resident of Willow Lake Estates in Elgin, IL before moving to Belmont Village in Oak Park four years ago.
Visitation Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park. Prayers Wednesday 8:45 a.m. to Ascension Church for Mass at 9:30 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
