Obituary for Ralph W. Behnke

Ralph Wilhelm Behnke, 79 years old, passed away Thursday June 25th 2015 with his wife and children by his side. He was born on October 28th 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to Wilhelm and Elizabeth (Eilrich) Behnke. He grew up in Chicago attending Jehovah Lutheran Elementary and Kelvyn Park High School before joining the Army. After working as an entrepreneur and a salesman in his early years, he spent most of his career managing manufacturing plants in Quebec, Ontario, Vermont, Mexico, Georgia, Indiana and Texas. However, his true vocation was caring, protecting and providing for his wife and children for which we are forever grateful. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judith, his adoring children Laura (Behnke) Goldenstein and Mark Behnke, his granddaughter Lily Goldenstein, and his brother Richard Behnke (Judith). He was preceded in death by their oldest daughter, Elizabeth Ann Behnke, in 1969. He will be buried at Concordia Cemetery in Forest Park near Elizabeth. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical staff at St David's South Austin Medical, particularly the CVRU staff for their care and comfort of both him and his loved ones in his last days.
