Obituary for Raymond F. LeFevour

On January 24th, our family lost a great man, when Ray LeFevour, 81, died unexpectedly. For 49 years, Ray was the devoted husband of Dee (nee Kiley), the father of Cara (Jim), Maura (Kyle), Edward (Kathryn), Ray (Tracey), Deirdre, John (Steffani) and Liam, grandfather of John, Tom, Isabel and Emily Dee Smith, Teagen, Baylen, Breslen and Rylen Reid, Ginette Dee and Elizabeth LeFevour, Kiley, Connor, Tyler and Ryan LeFevour and Jack and Zoe Rae LeFevour. Ray loved and adored his brothers and sisters-in-law Roger and Alvina Kiley, Maura Kiley, Jamie and Jill Carey and John and Carolyn Kiley, and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his brother Joseph and his sister-in-law Kathleen Kiley. Ray was a 50 year resident of Oak Park and spent summers at the family farm in Phelps, Wisconsin. Ray devoted his career to education and retired from the Chicago City Colleges in 2000 after proudly serving as president of Wilbur Wright Junior College for 13 years. To Ray, life - and each day - started and ended with his family. His favorite phrase was "family is #1 and there is no 2nd." He loved us with all his being and will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
