Dr. Rosemary Ndidi Gabriel, age 59, longtime resident of Chicago, died November 25. She was the beloved mother of Emem Itiat (Malachi Makonnen) of Oak Park and cherished grandmother of Zayan Makonnen; devoted daughter of Gabriel N. (Margaret M.) Igboanugo of Nigeria; loving sister of StellaMarie M. Mordi of Las Vegas, NV, Kenneth M. Igboanugo of Nigeria, RitaMarie N. Igboanugo of Chicago, George N. Igboanugo of Nigeria, KathleenMary O. Okoye of Glasgow, Scotland and David I. Igboanugo of Glasgow, Scotland. Rosemary was raised between Scotland and Nigeria. She was a graduate of St. Peter’s Primary and Someton High School both in Glasgow, Scotland. She was also a graduate of the University of Calabar, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria receiving a Master's in Education with a focus in special education. She also had a Masters in Language Arts with a specialty in the French Language. She held a Doctorate Degree in Professional Education. Rosemary enjoyed being a mother and friend to all. She was always charitable to those in need and putting other’s before herself. She loved music and dancing, her spirituality and telling beautiful stories. Making people laugh and always living life to the fullest. Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. Friday December 6 at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday December 7 at St. Edmund Church, 188 S. Oak Park Ave., Oak Park. Friends and family are asked to please meet at church. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
