Obituary for Mary Krina Darley-Mattio
Mary Krina Darley-Mattio, 59, of Aurora, passed away March 1, 2017 surrounded by family. Krina attended Oak Park River Forest High School and Loyola University New Orleans and earned two Master’s degrees from Dominican University. In August 2003, she married her high school sweetheart at St. Luke Church in River Forest. She was a devoted family member who worked for the family business, W.S. Darley & Company, in customer service for 30 years.
She is survived by her spouse Michael F. Mattio; father William J. Darley and his spouse Frances (Butler-Trankina); siblings Stephen (Darlene), Peter (Karen), Thomas (Pamela), James (Christina), Paul (Heidi) and Anne (Randy) Freedman; beloved nephews and nieces Peter Matthew, William, Kevin, Audrey, Margaret, Sophie, Gabriel, Geneva, Nicole, Jasmine, James Freedman, and Emmet Freedman; step-siblings and children of the Trankina family; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Krina was preceded in death by her mother Jeanne (Morrissy) Darley, and brother William C. Darley.
Visitation Sunday, March 5th, 1:00-5:00pm at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park. Friends and family will meet at St. Luke Church, 7600 Lake St. on Monday, March 6th for Mass at 10:00am. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hesed House (hesedhouse.org), St. Luke School (school-stlukeparish.org) or to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) are appreciated.
